The 2009 Year Wrap-up
Ok, it’s not an original topic, but I certainly have some winners and losers of 2009 and since I’m run the place I’m posting my bests and worsts of 2009 right here.
Best things of 2009:
TV Shows
Glee – Need I say more?
Fringe – SciFi at its best.
Community – One of the writers from 30 Rock left the show to act on this. It is definitely the funniest new show of the year.
The League – Maybe not for everyone, but certainly a hilarious take on fantasy football.
They’re all available for viewing right here.
Movies
Star Trek – From what I’ve read, some of the storylines were frowned upon by trekkers, but I think this is an exciting new chapter in the Star Trek dynasty, while staying true to the original series.
You may notice that I didn’t see many movies this year. It’s been a busy one.
Gadgets
iPhone – Yep, I have to list it here because the Palm Pre was kind of a dud and the Google Phone isn’t going to launch until 2010.
MagicMouse – Apple does it again with a sweet little mouse that I can’t afford but would love to have eventually.
Apparently apple sweeps this category because I can’t think of any other really great gadgets this year. Especially after Engadget’s review of the Barnes and Noble Nook.
People
There aren’t too many winners this year (we’re in a recession for crying out loud).
Oprah – I don’t like her, but bowing out while on top is a good move. Now she can move to her own network where I don’t need to be bothered by her anymore and Ellen can be #1.
Barack Obama – He got the Nobel Peace Prize because he’s a BAMF. Now let’s get to work on getting congress to work together . . .
2009 Losers
I’m not even using categories for this one because I only have a few true losers.
Tiger Woods – dude, you’re good at golf but kind of a bastard in your personal life (how many girlfriends did it finally add up to?).
Verizon – DROID may be able to do lots of things, but targeting the nerds isn’t going to get you the widespread use that the iPhone has.
Dick Cheney – I understand you want to spread your views on things, but try doing it without looking like you’re in cahoots with Dr. Evil and Darth Vader.
The Earth – Sorry earth, but we humans just can’t get things together enough to prevent you from dying a slow climate changed death even with Al Gore.
The State of California – There has to be a better way than furloughs and education cuts. How about we secede and become our own nation. We’d be in the black with all the exports. Or how about the governator doesn’t get paid? He was Conan the destroyer for crying out loud.
What were your best or worst of 2009, or what did I miss?

Glee of course. I did get into Bones this year so that’s on my list. I watched three or four episodes of Community, it seemed promising but it let me down.
Movie wise- Up, and then because it was hilarious, The Hangover.
Gadgets: I love my iPhone, and MacBook Pro. The SD slot is the best thing ever.
Winner- the american public now that Oprah can no longer brainwash the housewives.
Loser- The American people. Money talks and that is what is running our country. Corporations who get bailed out and what happens to us worrying about education? Big fat nothing. Can we fire the country, at least our governator? Or just get sponsorship so we can put money back into education, I don’t care about lowering the fees I’d prefer that we get more classes put back on each quarter.

The Hangover should be on there as well. I can’t believe I forgot about it.

TV Shows: Definitely Glee! And I’m loving Community as well. I loved Dollhouse, but apparently nobody else did as it just got cancelled. I’m trying to cut back on how much TV I watch. Apparently, that’s not going so well. :p
Movies: The Hangover almost made me pee myself laughing. We don’t go out to enough movies.
Gadgets: I’m loving the Kindle App for my iPhone.
Winner: You. Because you get to marry my sister.
Also, my sister, I suppose, because she gets to marry you.
Loser: Jon Gosselin. Since when is Kate the least hated Gosselin parent? Also, me for knowing who those two wretched people are.

I think Jon and Kate can be hated equally. They both are douchey and we should be so lucky to never hear about them again.
